Build your overnight routeAdjust the suggested bases and nights, then enter real door-to-door transfer estimates.

Enter 1–12 stops, or edit the suggested route above. Transfer time means door-to-door hours to arrive at that stop. Leave unknown times blank — they will be flagged.

How the assessment works: Your chosen pace sets a rough guide for nights per stop (relaxed 3, balanced 2, busy 1) and planned daily activity hours (4, 6, 8). The checker flags short stays, heavy days and long transfers. It does not look up transport times or accommodation availability.

How do I know if my travel itinerary is too rushed?

Short stays combined with frequent long transfers can leave less usable time than a day-by-day list suggests. Enter realistic durations from transport providers and local maps, including station or airport journeys, luggage handling and connection buffers. The checker points out tight combinations so you can adjust them before making reservations.

What counts as a transfer day?

A transfer day includes the time used to get to your next overnight stop. Include journeys to stations or airports, waiting, connections and the onward journey to the accommodation. The checker uses only the hours you enter; it does not retrieve transport timetables.

How many nights should I stay in one place?

There is no universal minimum. The relaxed, balanced and busy modes are editable planning preferences rather than rules. A one-night stay may be ideal on some routes but exhausting on others, especially after a long transfer. Consider your interests, accessibility needs, children, check-in times and travel style.

Does the pace score guarantee my itinerary will work?

No. This is a transparent planning heuristic, not a route optimiser or live travel-time checker. It is based on your entries and simplified assumptions about usable days. It cannot verify opening hours, seasonal transport, cancellations, local geography, personal fitness or travel accessibility. Always check bookings and add time for meals, weather and delays.
