Know what to set aside
Choose a departure date and enter your budget to see a savings plan.
Planning only. This calculator shows the contribution required from your inputs. It does not hold money, recommend savings products or account for interest, fees, inflation or changes in travel prices. Always allow for unexpected costs and confirm actual booking prices before committing.
How much should I save each month for a holiday?
Enter your trip budget, the amount you already have set aside and your departure date. Choose monthly contributions to see the amount needed at each saving point. The first contribution is counted today, followed by contributions on the same calendar day of subsequent months where possible. For a shorter trip timeline, weekly or fortnightly contributions may be easier to compare.
Should I add a contingency to my holiday savings target?
An optional buffer can help you prepare for unexpected transport, accommodation or daily expenses. The percentage you enter is added to your planned holiday budget. It is not a prediction of what your trip will cost.
How can I tell whether my current savings plan is on track?
Add the amount you plan to contribute each saving period. The calculator projects how much you could have by departure, then shows any difference from your target. The projection assumes the stated contributions happen as scheduled and excludes account interest and fees.
Is this a live savings account or financial advice?
No. This is a budgeting tool, not a bank account, investment recommendation or payment service. It does not move or hold money, fetch your bank information or provide guaranteed returns. Check booking prices and leave room for unexpected costs before paying deposits.
