Planning a holiday with friends or family? Work out each person’s share of accommodation, activities, meals and transport, even when one person pays upfront. Add the expenses you have actually agreed, then see who owes whom.
Share the costs, not the confusion
Keep track of holiday expenses, who paid and who should contribute. See everyone’s fair share and a simple plan for settling up.
Who owes whom?
Add an expense to see what each person has paid, their fair share and any suggested reimbursements.
Before transferring money: Check every receipt and agree each person's allocation. The suggested repayments assume no previous reimbursements and no transfer fees. The tool cannot send money, verify transactions, retrieve exchange rates or store your calculations for another visit. Copy or print the result before leaving the page.
How do we split holiday costs fairly?
Add the people travelling, then record each shared expense and who paid for it. Tick only the travellers who should contribute to that particular cost. You can divide a bill equally or enter custom shares if different people have agreed different contributions.
What if only some people join an activity?
For that expense, select just the people participating. The payer can be someone else entirely, such as a friend who booked an activity for the group. The calculator accounts for this when showing repayments.
Can we compare costs in different currencies?
Use one currency per calculation. If you paid in several currencies, convert each transaction to the same currency using the exchange rate actually charged by your card or payment provider, including fees. The calculator does not fetch exchange rates or make payments.
Do the suggested repayments include payments already made between friends?
The repayment plan assumes no previous reimbursements have been entered. If someone has already repaid another traveller, remove that amount from their outstanding balance or record the final agreed balances separately. Double-check receipts and agree the amounts together before sending money.
