Illustrative sample — not current market prices or destination-specific quotes. Edit the figures below.
Price of one room per night. Multiplied by rooms and nights, not travellers.
Meals, drinks and snacks for one traveller per spending day.
Buses, metros, taxis and short rides for one traveller per spending day.
Daily sightseeing, tickets and experiences for one traveller.
Return flights for one traveller. Enter 0 if already paid or not applicable.
Trains, ferries, internal flights and other transfers per traveller for the whole trip.
Trip insurance per traveller, if required.
Estimated visa and entry fees per traveller. Verify official rules.
One-off extras for the entire group, not per person.
Percentage added to the whole trip budget for unexpected costs.
How the calculation works: Accommodation = rate per room × rooms × nights. Daily spending = cost per person × travellers × spending days. One-off per-person costs are multiplied by travellers; group extras are added once. The contingency is applied to the subtotal. All figures are rounded for display. No account, cookies, automatic currency conversion, pricing feed or storage of your figures is required by this tool. All example costs and older research should be checked before your trip.

What should you include in a travel budget?

Start with accommodation, food and drinks, local transport, activities and return flights. Then include trains or transfers between destinations, insurance, entry fees and one-off group expenses. An optional contingency allowance helps you plan for changes.

How does the calculator handle shared rooms?

Enter the cost of one room per night and the number of rooms you need. The calculator multiplies by rooms and nights, not by the number of people. Food, activities and other per-person costs are calculated separately.

Are these live destination prices?

No. The figures initially shown are clearly labelled examples to explain the calculation, or editorial planning figures that can be updated in the site settings. They are not travel quotes or live exchange rates. Replace them with prices you have checked for your dates and travel style. Use the on-site destination guides for more context.
