Human editorial responsibility
Karen Taylor is responsible for the site’s topic choices, editorial standards, source selection, final editing, publication decisions, updates and corrections.
Digital tools do not hold editorial responsibility and are not treated as factual authorities.
How a guide is created
A typical guide may involve:
- Defining the reader question and search intent.
- Collecting official and reputable sources.
- Comparing routes, locations, prices, schedules or booking terms.
- Building an outline around the decisions a traveller needs to make.
- Drafting and editing the explanation.
- Checking important claims against the original sources.
- Reviewing calculations, links, headings, disclosures and accessibility.
- Publishing only after human editorial review.
The process varies by topic. A legal or safety-related detail requires a different level of verification from a general description of an area.
How AI may assist
Generative AI or other digital tools may be used to help with:
- Organising research notes.
- Creating an initial outline.
- Suggesting clearer wording or section order.
- Summarising differences that are then checked against the source.
- Structuring comparison tables.
- Checking consistency, repetition or missing questions.
- Supporting calculations that are independently reviewed.
- Producing original editorial illustrations.
AI output is not accepted automatically. It can be incomplete, outdated or wrong, so important information is checked against the named source.
What AI is not used to do
The site does not intentionally use AI to:
- Invent a personal visit, hotel stay, meal, journey or product test.
- Create fabricated quotations, interviews or credentials.
- Impersonate a local expert or official source.
- Copy or lightly rewrite another publisher’s work.
- Manufacture traveller reviews.
- Publish large numbers of pages without meaningful human review and reader value.
- Replace government, operator or provider information for critical facts.
First-hand language
The site distinguishes between first-hand experience and research-led planning judgement.
Phrases such as “I visited”, “I stayed”, “I tested” or “my experience” should only be used when true. When a conclusion is based on sources, maps, route comparisons and current booking information, it should be described as a research-led recommendation.
Source verification
Legal, entry, safety, schedule, price and booking claims are checked against the strongest available source. A search result, booking snippet or AI answer is not enough when the original source is available.

AI-assisted illustrations
Some original graphics may be created with AI assistance and then selected, edited or reviewed for the article. These are editorial illustrations, not documentary photographs.
Affiliate content
AI assistance does not determine which affiliate partner receives a link. Commercial links should be selected because they provide a relevant next step for the reader, and the editorial conclusion should remain independent of commission rates.
